So the book tip this time is The Lean Startup.
Well, the book as its name says is about startup and entrepreneurship as a consequence. The author introduces the book already with an unconventional story about startups that is failing, the implementation of his idea didn't work out. So right after this introduction he informs the motivation of the book, his idea didn't work out but what's the reason?
Soon after, he tells about another experience and that this time it worked out about IMVU, so with the learning he acquired in his endeavors as an innovator in startups, he brings some points that should be considered when launching a product.
1 - Do not create useless products
When creating a product, be careful not to create something useless, something that will not attract the interest of customers.
2 - Understand what the customer wants
When launching a product, or even when starting the development of a product, it is necessary to keep in mind the usefulness of the product and the reason that would lead a customer to want to use this product
3 - MVP (minimum viable product)
This is the term for a product that has been developed and has the least amount of work on it, because to launch a product you should not waste time and hours of work on a product that customers might not want, with an MVP you spend the minimum energy on a product and can launch it to be tested by customers and then receive feedback or insights and only then work on a better version or automate what in MVP was done manually.
4 - Learning process:
- Launch the MVP
- Test and get feedback
- Implement improvements or new features
- Repeat the process
5 -Indicators
There must be availability of the best possible feedback indicators for the tests, always taking care not to see unrealistic data
6 - Agility
Here a parallel is drawn with the whole movement of DevOps and agile development, as there is a constant learning process, changes must be fast, allowing for more tests for more development.
7 - Culture
As we work in highly dynamic environments, we must take into account the culture in the organization or those involved, as we need to understand what we are looking for and what kind of alignment is expected from an employee, for example.
That's it, another tip!
